Posted by Jocelyn Green on Mar 06, 2013 in Behind the Books | 30 Comments

Since Widow of Gettysburg has now had THREE (count them three) "final" covers that have each appeared at all the online retail sites, I thought showing you the evolution of the cover would be fitting. Just finalized last week. Ta-da!

Now here's how we got there.

Book 1 in the Cadence of Grace series, Be Still My Soul is an apt title for the book, which had my own heart pounding, stirring, and breaking for the characters. Joanne Bischof shines as a master wordsmith, painting vivid scenes textured with all five senses. This alone, makes it worth the read, but the story will sweep you away as much as its Appalachian setting. Not your run-of-the-mill romance, this one stands out for its realistic,...

Behind the Scenes: The Making of a Book Trailer

Posted by Jocelyn Green on Jan 31, 2013 in Behind the Books | 8 Comments

Publishing and promoting a book is definitely a team effort, and one of the teams whose work I am most fascinated by is the one who created this book trailer for Wedded to War, the first book in my Heroines Behind the Lines series. Read on for an interview with Phil Jacoby, creative producer of Mothlight Creative, the company who made this happen. (Behind the scenes...

Wedded to War Historic Sites of Washington City

Posted by Jocelyn Green on Jan 16, 2013 in Behind the Books, Travel Guides | 2 Comments

Last month I shared with you five historic sites of New York City that appear in my Civil war novel Wedded to War. Today, I want to take you to Washington, DC--or Washington City, as it was commonly referred to in 1861. There are many sites not on this list simply because the buildings no longer exist. My goal is to show you places both "then" and "now" that you can actually visit today. First,...
