Please vote on the dress Liberty will wear on the book cover!

We are working on the book cover design for Widow of Gettysburg, and I'm collecting feedback on which dress the heroine should wear on the cover. I want you to help us decide! Please keep in mind that Liberty Holloway is a farm girl, twenty years old, so her fashions won't be as fancy as Charlotte Waverly's were in New York City, but we still want her to look nice. :) Liberty has black hair and sapphire blue eyes. Please tell me which dress you'd like to see her wear on the cover. (I'm sorry two of the captions are not appearing-one for the purple dress and one for the pink and white dress. Also, FYI, we can choose a favorite style but tweak the colors.)

1860s tea dress, 3-flouces, garibaldi blouse. Blue tea dress

Sheer plaid wool day dress with ruched trim and green satin binding, c. 1860s. Coral day dress

Hand-ruched velvet trim. This is a sharp looking dress. Green with velvet trim

I love the fabric on this dress! Brown plaid

Day dress. Blue stripe

Feminine yet simpleI like the sideways stripes.

The coral day dress is about as plain as any farm girl might wear out of this group of dresses. Not too sure it is even plain enough for a "day dress" on the farm, but it looks the best of the group.

I adore that blue tea dress! But I think that coral day dress would be most fitting. I went to a civil war fashion show in May and they said that the more plaid and design, etc. in the fabric it was a sign of wealth because the gown would require more fabric. Also the coral dress without as much of a hoop depicts more of her everyday clothing as a farm girl and not a city girl. Good luck picking out the costume. They are all lovely!

Hi Carla, you went to a Civil War fashion show???? Where? Was it SO FUN? I would just love to go to one of those!! OK, calming down now. :) I adore the tea dress, too, but think the coral day dress will probably be our best pick. Thank you for stopping by!

Hi Jocyelyn, My Mom and I went on Mother's Day weekend in Hinkley, Maine (local). I blogged a bit about it on my blog http://writingtodistraction.blogspot.com. The sponsor's, Civil War Maine, had a weekend reenactment last weekend that we missed because of family events. We were so disappointed we couldn't make it. Last summer we also went to an historical wedding dress exhibit in Utica, NY and there were many victorian gowns! I was just drooling the whole time!
